Stasney's Cook Ranch is proud to be a part of Texas Parks and Wildlife's Panhandle Plains Wildlife Viewing Trail.    Hundreds of locations were visited and analyzed for participation in this program and trail map.  Here is their review of Stasney's Cook Ranch:
"This is the anchor site on the Big Country Loop, with 25,000 acres of spectacular habitat that includes canyons, rock cliffs, valleys, creeks, limestone deposits chock full of fossils. Significant Native American populations once lived here, attested to by the artifacts that continually turn up here. This ranch should not be missed."

A mild climate and plentiful vegetation supports cattle and abundant wildlife including bison, deer, wild boar, turkey, quail, dove, bobcat, coyote, and raccoon.  Geographic location makes the Ranch home to birds found in the eastern and western half of the United States and brings migratory birds from all points of the compass.

Distance from major cities has left the air clean and clear to enjoy crisp mornings, the sweet smell of rain, vibrant sunsets, and an awesome view of the stars.  Stasney's Cook Ranch is a rare gem.  It is a slice of creation and the old Texas frontier that most people never get to see and you won't want to miss!
