Weddings
Stasney's Cook Ranch has hosted many wonderful weddings, rehearsal dinners
and receptions. The large open patio facing the valley and water below makes
a grand outdoor cathedral. If the weather becomes an issue, the
Cook Shack
can seat as many as 200 guests. If this is not large enough,
additional tents
can be added to handle much larger groups.
The
Royal Suite in the
Headquarters is a beautiful Victorian styled room for
the bride to prepare for the wedding. A
white horse drawn carriage is also
available to carry the newlyweds in grand style to or from the reception
(see photos below).
Newlyweds usually choose to spend the night in our smallest cabin,
Ft. Griffin,
and head out the next day for their honeymoon. The ranch currently sleeps 48
people. Many families choose to spend the entire weekend at the ranch having
the rehearsal dinner on Friday night in the Cook Shack and the wedding on Saturday
afternoon on the patio. The transition from the wedding ceremony on the patio
to the reception in the Cook Shack is very convenient.
The Whitney Theatre in town has been beautifully restored and also makes a very
nice venue for rehearsal dinners or receptions.
Our in-house staff has years of experience in creating a warm welcoming environment
for your special event. A variety of delicious menus are available. Our staff
can prepare special desserts and cakes or there are several local vendors that make
excellent wedding cakes. Our staff is also available to take digital or 35mm
photographs of your event. However, if the couple prefers professional photography
and videography, there are many local vendors from which the couple can choose.
For example, Tom Miller in Abilene took the above pictures and the first one below
and did an excellent job with the wedding album. In regard to live music, there
are a number of local musicians from which to to choose. For recorded music, the
ranch has an electric piano and CD player. Some audio/visual equipment is available
for presentations at the rehearsal dinner or reception.
If you are interested in planning a wedding at the ranch, please click on "Special
