Hunting

Stasney's Cook Ranch is a 25,000-acre working cattle ranch near Albany in Shackelford County, Texas. Stasney's Cook Ranch also has leased the hunting rights on the Dawson-Conway Ranch which is adjacent to Stasney's Cook Ranch. The Dawson-Conway ranch adds about 14,500 of wildlife habitat to our management area. This brings our total to roughly 40,000 acres of premium hunting habitat.

Stasney's Cook Ranch and the Dawson-Conway Ranch are managed intensively. Our full-time wildlife manager, Johnnie Hudman, is one of the most experienced wildlife managers in the region.

Stasney's Cook Ranch offers a variety of hunting packages and leases. Hunt Whitetail Deer, Quail, Chukar, Wild Boar, Dove, Rio Grande Turkeys, Waterfowl or predators while you enjoy being pampered in the evenings in the spacious lodge at headquarters. Great meals are served in a ranch atmosphere. We try to accommodate guests with special diets. All hunts are subject to availability.

All hunters must execute a release in the form provided by Stasney's Cook Ranch and possess a valid Texas hunting license. All game laws and limits are strictly followed. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required on all hunts. Hunts cancelled 30 days or less from start of hunt will not be allowed a refund. No hunt is reserved or booked until the deposit has been received. No alcohol beverages will be allowed while hunting. Guided hunters shall not chamber a round until the guide advises them to do so. Hunters must possess and carry a valid Texas hunting license and abide by the game laws of Texas, the U.S. and the rules of the ranch. All hunters are expected to remove all shell casings, cans, trash, and debris from the Ranch.
